We're proud to annouce that our customer, VolkerLaser, has been recognized as a semi-finalist for the Project of the Year by a Specialist Contractor award for their work on the M5 Oldbury Viaduct, the largest concrete repair scheme ever undertaken in the UK.
The scope of work included hydro-demolition, concrete repair, and the use of Type 1 Galvashield® XP4 embedded galvanic anodes. Concrete spalling and delamination were caused by de-icing salts corroding the reinforcement. After the repairs had been completed, they were overlaid with a bridge deck waterproofing system.
In 2019, VCT celebrated the 20-year anniversary of Galvashield XP. At that time, we announced a redesign of the Galvashield XP Product Line that have three primary features:
The Galvashield XP4 models have additional benefits, such as the Barfit™ grooved design for secure anode placement and CSP-3 surface profile to promote enhanced mechanical bond with the surrounding repair materials.
At Vector Corrosion Technologies, saving structures is what we do. With the largest range of cathodic protection technologies and services to control concrete corrosion, Vector offers innovative solutions for most budgets and service life objectives.
